What Company VIPs Expect in Corporate Events
Planning a gathering where the President or Chairman of the corporation will be in attendance can be challenging and nerve-wracking. Thankfully, the big bosses are much like any regular staff, and many good bosses are modest, and will not parade around acting like they own the entire place.
However, no matter how down to earth or humble the President or Chairman might be, it does not mean that they should not get special treatment. Here are some things that you need to remember when dealing with VIPs:
Give them a special spot
There’ll always be a VIP table, which is normally in the center and in front of the event place. All VIPs being gathered together is the custom, but it is best to do some research on whose friends with to have the seating chart correct.
Serve them their food and do not let them queue at the buffet table. Add a little more to the VIP table for their pleasure, whether it’s a bottle of wine or extra servings of hors d’ oeuvres, or perhaps more Chocolate Fruffles or Double Berry Cheesecake from Red Robin.
Recognize their presence immediately
It’s uncomfortable when VIPs are seen wandering around since no one saw them come in. While they perhaps won’t mind, it shows incompetence in your part to not recognize your higher ups. Assign attendants to look out for particular VIPs, and once seen, to immediately escort them to their assigned seats.
Be available when needed
Assign an assistant to keep an eye on those people in the center table to be of assistance for anything that they will need, such as being led on stage for their welcome remarks. Paying close attention is different from spoiling them too much, so it is better to stay at arm’s length, and observe them from afar.
Give them valuable tokens
VIPs will not mind receiving the standard notebook and pen with the company logo printed on it, but it’s best to think of special gifts for them. Remember that they took time out of their hectic schedules to attend your corporate event. Consider giving them a nicely framed artwork or a leather suit bag with their initials.
When it comes to preparing for a corporate event, there’s so much at stake for you to just wing it. Like wedding planners spend months of planning and preparing, you also have to do the same for your company event where big bosses are in attendance.
