History
Johnny Rockets was founded by award-winning men’s fashion retailer Ronn Teitelbaum who launched his first restaurant on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, California in 1986. He found inspiration to open up a food business on the belief that everyone deserves to experience an escape from the daily complexities and just have relaxing moments over good, classic American eats. The restaurant name was derived from the combination of the undying Johnny Appleseed story with the timeless Oldsmobile Rocket 88.
What They’re Famous For
They are best for their original hamburger, and not just the regular hamburger but the classic American taste. It was the Original Hamburger that started it all on Melrose Avenue in 1986. In its most classic preparation, this one is topped with fresh shredded iceberg lettuce, chopped onions, tomato, pickle, relish, mustard and mayonnaise.
