History
In 1998, Jeff Sinelli opened his first Genghis Grill location in Dallas, Texas and the initial opening was an instant success, attributing it to its word pun on “khanquered” the Mongolian barbeque niche. In 2004, Sinelli sold his company to Chalak Group, a group of young college entrepreneurs who also operate all Genghis Grill branches in the Dallas and Fort Worth Metroplex. From then on it grew to 62 franchise locations and probably about 40 more which opened by then end of the year. It now has about 300 units operating all over the US.
