History

Zoe’s Kitchen was named after Zoe Cassimus, the mother of founder John Cassimus. The first restaurant opened in 1995 in Jefferson County, Birmingham, while a second location opened 4 years after. In 2001, their third location opened in downtown Birmingham opening doors to bigger success and more expansions. In the same year, the restaurant opened a 4^th store outside Birmingham, located in Tuscaloosa.

After 5 years, they were able to expand into 16 restaurants, majority of which can be found in Alabama. Today, they continue to grow and innovate their services, reaching more customers all over the United States. As of March 2015, they currently have 140 restaurants serving customers throughout fifteen states in the US.
